Campo de Mayo - Concentration Camp / Torture Center

For the first time, survivors and citizens were allowed to enter Campo de Mayo, a military base that served as a concentration camp where people were detained and tortured before they were killed.

Riot police maintain their position as people enter onto the base to commemorate those lives that were brutally lost at the hands of the military.

Clearly this was a celebratory day, a day of reclaiming the space, of civilian citizens entering military space to speak aloud the crimes that were committed there, to remember the victims, and to shout out that the dream of a more just world did not die there, but lives on in both the survivors and the youth.
